Our School: Where Children and Learning Come First

• Is a K-6 school located in the center of the 19th Ward Sibley Tract.
  
  
• Has small-group computer instruction in the school computer lab.
  
  
• Partners with Xerox Science Consultants, who conduct hands-on science lessons in the classroom to enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts.
  
  
• Has an Annual Project Fair that displays Science and Social Studies projects.
  
  
• Has student artwork proudly displayed throughout the foyer and hallways.
  
  
• Has opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate their musical skills through Orff Schulwerk music instruction provided by a nationally recognized music teacher. Programs are done in winter, February for Black History Month, and spring.
  
  
• Has a Terrific Kids Program through the southwest Kiwanis Club that gives certificates, educational materials, and monthly recognition to one student in each classroom.
  
  
• Offers inclusion opportunities at all grade levels for students with learning disabilities.
  
  
• Has an after-school tutoring program for fourth-grade students.
  
  
• Has an active Parent Teacher Association that includes parents who coordinate volunteer efforts, and monthly PTA meetings that include performances by students.

• Has a dedicated staff of educators and very involved parents and community partners. This dynamic combination, when added to an attractive and supportive learning environment, provides children with a broad range of educational, cultural, and social opportunities.
