Records
maintained by the Rochester City School District are available
to the public through New York State's Freedom of Information
Law.
Interested parties can request information such as the District's
budget and other records by submitting a letter of request to
the District's Comminucations Director, Tom Petronio. Copies
of records requested are 25-cents per page, as stated in the law.
Records can be viewed at the District office, 131 West Broad Street,
at no cost.
For more information on the Freedom of Information Law, visit www.dos.state.ny.us/coog/foil.html.
In addition, a variety of information is available to the public
via the District's website.
Information on the site includes preliminary budget information,
District policies, Board of Education resolutions, meeting dates,
school profiles, and information on school registration and school
choice. The District's approved budget will also be posted upon
its adoption by the Board later this month.
Information on many of the above topics is also mailed to parents
of all enrolled students before the start of the school year as
part of the District's annual calendar.
