This district-wide organization networks with national and state coalitions supporting Title I programs under NCLB. Members participate at the national and state levels in discussion of Title I education programs and lobby for federal funding to support programs to improve student achievement.
The Executive Council of DACT/NCLB works with District staff and involves parents in the development and understanding of academic programs. It also holds workshops for parents on their rights under NCLB and is involved in decision-making at the district level.
DACT/NCLB supports the participation of parents and community members in national, state and local conferences on parent involvement and participation on the following committees: Curriculum/Monitoring, Workshop/Publicity, Legislation, Membership/Election, Bilingual Affairs, and Non-Public Programs. DACT General meetings are open to the public and are held monthly throughout the school year from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at The First Church of God, 334 Clarissa St. |
